Dr. Bronius Špakauskas has been working in neurosurgery for more than 40 years. For over 20 years, he has been the head of the Department of Neurosurgery at The Hospital of the Lithuanian University of Health Science. It is the only unit of its kind in Lithuania providing qualified and specialized help to patients with ailments and diseases of the spine, spinal cord, and peripheral nervous system.
The direction of dr. B.Spakauskas’ work and scientific research – surgical treatment of spinal diseases. In 1993 the doctor has been awarded the highest qualification category of Neurosurgery. He has acquired a degree of Doctor of medical sciences. In Lithuania, Dr. B.Spakauskas has been the first neurosurgeon in Lithuania to introduce a new spine treatment – minimally invasive spinal surgery.
The neurosurgeon has released more than 100 publications on spinal surgery issues in the national and foreign medical press and reports at international neurosurgeon forums.
